Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei says she regrets studying Law at the expense of pursuing a career in athletics.
Shollei notes that Law was not her dream career and that her interest was always in athletics.
In an interview with Massawe Japanni on Radio Jambo on Thursday, the former Judiciary Registrar said that she was forced to pursue law.
She revealed that her parents and friends influenced her to drop her passion for athletics and "ended up studying Law, which was not my passion."
“I regret not pursuing my dreams of being an athlete during my school days because I was a very good runner. But I blame this on peer pressure,” added the Woman Rep who also revealed that she was nicknamed ‘Hetro-Metric’ for her passion in athletics.
The lawmaker holds a Masters Degree in Maritime Law from Cape Town University and a Bachelors Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi (UoN).
Despite her regrets, the legislator rose through the ranks to become a registrar of the Judiciary before joining politics in 2017 where she successfully vied for the Woman Rep post on a Jubilee party ticket.
