Bomet Senator Christopher Lang’at and three MPs from the county stormed out of a function attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the county on Monday afternoon.
Uhuru was in the county to open Bomet University.
The four leaders, in a video circulating online, said they had been denied a chance to address the public yet ‘we are the ones who pushed for the university’.
The three MPs, Bomet Central MP Ronald Tonui, Bomet East MP Beatrice Kones and Konoin MP Brighton Yegon, as well as the senator, said they had been denied a chance to speak to block the from spilling the beans on the evils in the varsity.
They claimed that nepotism has dogged the institution. Senator Lang’at also claimed that the tender for the university has been given to a politician.
“The tender for the university has been given to one Moses Kuria. I personally used my money to push for the university so that it can give jobs to our young people,” Lang’at said.
At the function was Deputy President William Ruto who watched the group of MPs stormed out immediately the head of state was through with his official remarks.
