The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has introduced changes and reorganizations in several departments.
In the changes announced on Monday and approved by Commissioner Marjan Hussein Marjan, the commission says that the same is part of its ongoing transformation process.
The main aim of the reorganization, reads a statement released on Monday, is to ensure the electorate and the nation at large of better and improved services.
It entails designations of officers and reorganizations of departments.
This comes at a time when the Wafula Chebukati-led commission is under pressure to vacate office after over allegations of bungling the 2017 general elections.
Political players led by the opposition side called for an overhaul of the commission. It has enlisted corrections at IEBC as one of the issues to be looked at in the ongoing push for electoral and constitutional reforms spearheaded by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Also, there is an ongoing battle and unending blame game pitting the commission and its Secretariat wing, where Chebukati and expelled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ezra Chiloba have been blaming each other for the commissions shortcomings.
The duel is revolving around who is to blame for the commission's faulty procurement of election materials in the previous poll.
Here is the statement.
