Over the weekend, Ruto openly accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of allegedly orchastrating his departure from Jubilee.

"You cannot use handshake as a pretext to kick me out of Jubilee. We now know you. That plan can't work," he said.

The DP has positioned himself as automatic successor of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who retires after 2022 polls.

But an insider privy to Ruto's schemes, the DP has sensed a possible sabotage in his own Jubilee party, thus shopping another party for emergency.

"We have a plan and we may resign from government close to election and join our party," a senior official in Ruto's office said.

ODM troops led by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed on Monday insisted that Ruto is in his way out of Jubilee and was using that orange party as scapegoat.

"He is on his way out of Jubilee. He is using Raila as scapegoat. He is known for party hopping. Let him exit without dragging Raila's name," he said.

Since March 9th, Ruto's team has been openly uncomfortable with Raila's decision to reconcile with Uhuru in one of Kenya's most unlikely political event.
