Magenche ward MCA Timothy Ogugu argued that Matiang'i should not give ears to a section of politicians demanding for his resignation.

The MCA wondered why pressure should be piled on Matiang'i to resign yet he is not the one caught with the fake gold.

"I don't see the reason as to why some selfish people will demand for Matiang'i's resignation over the fake gold scam yet he is not the one caught with fake gold. His exemplary work in government has made critics to panic given the big roles he plays in government," said the Magenche MCA.

Ogugu challenged elected leaders from the Gusii community to stand firm and ensure Matiang'i's name is not dragged into unnecessary scams.

"My appeal to Matiang'i is that he should not succumb to unnecessary pressure. Let him continue working around the clock to ensure Kenyans across all corners of this country are protected," he added.

The vocal ward representative said DCI and the DPP should be given time to probe the fake scandal.
