Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has come to the defence of four Cabinet Secretaries alleged to be plotting against Deputy President William Ruto.
The 'Kieleweke' legislator has revealed that claims against the four CSs from Mt Kenya region are as a result of them being loyal to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"It started with attacks on CS-without-Portfolio Raphael Tuju. Now it’s Health CS Kariuki, ICT CS Mucheru, Transport CS Macharia and Trade CS Munya. All these CSs - plus several others including Interior CS Matiangi - have one thing in common. They are (privately and publicly) 100% loyal ONLY to President Uhuru Kenyatta," posted Ngunjiri on his Facebook page.
"They have refused to TangaTanga. They have also refused to play politics with development. Now someone wants to intimidate them. That someone must think we are idiots," he added.
The four CSs on Monday reported to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to record a statement following claims that they were plotting to eliminate the DP.
They, however, did not record the statement as they insisted that there must be a formal complaint recorded with the DCI over the claims.
The new sensational claims come amid DP Ruto's brigade led by Belgut MP Nelson Koech accusing some government officlas of undermining the second in command
"Some Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries are trying to play dirty tricks which involve undermining and blocking Dr Ruto from touring some parts of the country. We are telling any CSs or PSs who going forward will dare to undermine him, that we will censure them in parliament (sic),” said Koech.
The 2022 succession politics has continue to rock Jubilee party even after President Kenyatta's warnings.
