Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has remained hesitant to throw his support behind the growing national unity push wholly.

The push is spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga.

Raila on Thursday and Friday hosted Uhuru to his (Raila) Luo Nyanza bedrock, in line with the national restoration campaign they launched after their March 9 handshake in Nairobi.

But Mudavadi argues that the nation has had enough of the talking by the leaders and their allies, urging them to confirm their words by actualising their promises and pledges.

“We need to see the actual steps going forward. This was a process of saying they want harmony, they want people to come together. That is okay, but we need to see the concrete issues addressed,” he was quoted by the Nation.

The former Deputy Prime Minister was speaking after attending the wedding of ANC Chairman Kelvin Lunani at the Kongowea Catholic Church in Mombasa County on Saturday.

He also threw his weight behind the reignited war on graft, advising the government to fully finance the bodies entrusted with combating the menace for better results.

“If you want to fight corruption in the country, there are important agencies that must be well funded. Judiciary, investigators and prosecutors among others," he added.

The founder of the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) block also fired shots at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

He blamed the Wafula Chebukati led team for the 2017 post-election tension after Uhuru's reelection.

He now wants the increasing fallouts at the commission sorted before the 2022 polls.
