A section of Members of Parliament allied to opposition leader Raila Odinga have slapped their Jubilee Party counterparts with a number of demands they want fulfilled.
The group allied to Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have called for a stop to the unnecessary linking of Raila to the Jubilee Party's ongoing woes.
Speaking in Awendo on Friday, Nyatike parliamentarian Tom Odege also demanded that Jubilee members stop straying into ODM affairs or face political retaliation.
He also tore into the ruling party members who have been opposed to the March 9 truce between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said that himself and his colleagues from Nyanza region will take on whoever stands in the way of the handshake and the unity and development campaign it stands for.
"Let Jubilee put its house in order. We shall ensure three things: that you don't stray into ODM affairs, that you don't call the name of Raila unnecessarily and that we [stick to] our responsibility as elected leaders to protect the presidency.
We are ready to fight and die for those three things," he was quoted by the Saturday Nation.
The leader was speaking in the company of other area leaders during the burial of area parliamentarian Walter Owino's mother.
Other leaders present included Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja), Ochillo Ayacko (Senator of Migori) and Ongondo Were of Kasipul Kabondo.
The remarks come at a time when Raila has been on the receiving end from Jubilee leaders who are accusing him of propagating the growing rift between Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto.
The rift apparently began emerging after their truce early last tear.
