Medics in Nyamira County have fired warning shots to Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama over their unpaid dues.
Led by Richard Oruta, they claimed that the county boss is busy stealing public funds but has failed to pay medics their salaries.
"Nyamira leadership is rotten and we are demanding the county boss to consider paying medics their salaries which has been held for several months now. We can't continue offering services to residents at health centers without getting our monthly salaries," he said.
Mr Oruta urged Nyagarama to move with speed to pay health workers failure to which they will boycott work.
"Over Sh1 billion went missing from the county and no one has come out to explain where the money went. All we are demanding is our salaries so that we can pay rent, buy food and pay school fees for our children who are returning back to school," he added.
He urged Nyamira residents to join hands with medics to push the county government under the leadership of ageing ODM governor Nyagarama to pay health workers.
"It is high time Nyamira locals should join us to push Nyagarama's administration to pay health workers before we call strike," he stated.
