Deputy President William Ruto is clearly one of the frontrunners in the approaching 2022 presidential race.
Having announced his bid immediately he joined hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013, Ruto has since made many friends and enemies nationally, but has made more enemies in the Luo Nyanza region.
Largely allied to opposition leader Raila Odinga’s side, however, here are some of the people from Luo Nyanza who will benefit from Ruto’s candidature
1. Politicians
Ruto has managed to attract a number of local Nyanza politicians whose closeness to him has rendered them unwanted in the region, including the likes of former Ndhiwa lawmaker Agostino Neto.
With him in the vote hunting mission, the politicians will have a reason to once again come out and accompany him while at the same time again popularizing themselves and their bids.
2. Entertainers
His campaigns in the region will obviously entail music and other sought of entertainment, bringing money into the pockets of local entertainers.
With leaders in his entourage likely to reward impressive entertainers as is usually the case in political functions, more money will be in rotation.
A couple of local musicians may also compile praise songs for the leader.
3. Traders
Traders will also enjoy his candidature as his campaigns in the region will bring in more people, others ferried from other regions, resulting to a boom in business.
Those selling branded accessories having his name, photos, and party symbol will also be in for a kill, especially at the entrance of where his events will take place.
