The directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta which targets freezing new projects may have not down well with Deputy President William Ruto.
In July 20th, Uhuru warned that government officials should ensure old projects are completed before embarking on new ones.
But on Tuesday, Ruto's allies led by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro vowed to challenge the matter in parliament.
"The directive was misguided and could have just been reached on political grounds. We have options and we shall let Kenyans know.
"Some of these new projects are important and it's funny that the president wants them stopped. We shall come with ways to repulse," he said, adding that over 40 MPs will make a decision on the matter.
According to Osoro, who also doubles as Ruto's pointsman in Kisii and Nyamira, the directive may be targeting the DP wrongly.
In high magnitude campaigns being undertaken by Ruto, Osoro's constituency is one of beneficiary since Ruto commissioned new projects in the region in June.
He warned that they will find alternatives to counter Uhuru's directive.
