Nyanza leaders have called upon the government to deal with incessant terror attacks in the country following the Dusit D2 attack in Nairobi.
Speaking on Saturday during the burial of Dusit D2 attack victim James Oduor, alias Cobra in Siaya the leaders said that more has to be done in order to contain the security state of the nation.
Led Siaya Senator James Orengo and Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi the politicians said that the attack revealed many loopholes in the fight against terror.
During the burial the victim’s widow Diana Rose painfully recalled how she received the news about the death of her husband.
She urged Kenyans to pray for her during this tough moment in her life.
“I am deeply pained; I do not know who will write off the pain for me. I pray that God gives me the strength to overcome my deep loss,” she said, as quoted by Standard.
Leaders, relatives and neighbours eulogized the deceased as a young man who had a great love for football.
On her part, Ukwala Deputy County Commissioner Pamela Atieno assured the mourners that government is committed to protecting Kenyans.
She also showed her regret towards the untimely death of the Cobra.
The burial comes after three suspects of the attack were freed.
