An elected MP allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has said that there is nothing wrong with Deputy President William Ruto attending fund drives to give donations.
Kisii County MP Janet Ong'era argued that the money DP Ruto is giving out as donations to build churches should not bother his rivals so much.
"I have no problem with DP Ruto presiding over fund drives in the large Gusii region. Leaders opposed to Ruto's numerous donations to churches should help in improving the infrastructure at our churches to keep off Ruto," she noted.
According to her, Ruto sees the importance of building churches unlike other political leaders who have a poor mentality that the money the Deputy President is dishing out is stolen money.
"Thieves are in jail. Ruto could be in jail if at he is a thief as claimed. As leaders we should not feel jealous when others attend fund drives to offer their donations in good faith," she added.
Ms Ong'era urged leaders to shun politics based on political parties but, instead embrace unity.
