The group was sacked after failing to explain the source of their wealth, especially large amounts of money in their accounts following National Police Service vetting exercise.

They on Thursday appeared before Justice Nduma Nderi of the Labour and Relations court for the hearing of their petition against their sacking, according to the Citizen Digital.

However, the judge ruled that they were rightfully fired, insisting that they indeed received suspiciously high amounts of money in their accounts and through mobile banking.

He dismissed their argument that the veering board flouted constitutional provisions during the exercise, agreeing with the board that their wealth did not march their income.

The officers also lamented the board's decision to deny them a chance to bring their witnesses to the grilling sessions, which was also thrown out.

One of the officers was reportedly found with Shs 9 million in his account.

The same was a move aimed at taming the runaway corruption that has for a long time been associated with the traffic cops.
