President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again confirmed that he is very close to opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Wednesday, Uhuru noted that Raila holds a major position in his government, and has been advising him on how to handle his operations.
He added that some of them are as a result of an agreement between the two of them.
Uhuru spoke in reference to the ongoing National Integrated Identification (NIIMS) registration, otherwise known as Huduma Namba.
He said that they agreed with Raila on this one too, defending the initiative which he said will help to digitize records.
“What is this issue of digitizing our records, what is it all about? We sit, we discuss, we agree, he (Raila) also gives me ideas,” he was quoted by the Citizen Digital.
Uhuru was speaking at the closing of the Afro Champions Boma Forum on African Infrastructure, Finance and Delivery, a forum also attended by the former Prime Minister.
Raila has also been pushing from his side to have Kenyans register in large numbers, and was part if the high-profile team of national leaders that launched the same earlier in April.
Raila and Uhuru buried the hatchet in March last year, putting to rest their political enmity that was witnessed when the faced off for the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections.
They have been collaborating closely ever since.
