Keumbu police boss Joshua Muthoka has assured Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i that police officers are working round the clock to ensure residents in his home turf are safe.
Mr Muthoka while speaking on Monday during a public baraza at Nyamware village in Keumbu, Nyaribari Chache Constituency in Kisii County said the cabinet secretary should have faith in the police officers.
"I want to assure CS Matiang'i that police officers in Keumbu and its environs have intensified security patrols to flush out criminal. Locals need to report any criminals living among them so that necessary action can be taken before a crime is committed," he said.
The police boss further noted that he won't condone lazy and rogue police officers, adding that he will forward the names of officers colluding with criminals to terrorise locals to Matiang'i office for disciplinary actions.
Muthoka challenged locals to work closely with police especially in the fight against illegal businesses in the area.
He said Keumbu is a no go zone for criminals.
"Keumbu residents and those intending to visit the area should be free because security is beefed up 24 hours," he stated.
