Popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi on Monday issued a statement shortly after his counterpart Chipukeezy revealed that he had resigned from Ebru TV.
Taking to his Instagram account, Omondi claimed that TV, Radio and newspapers had lost their essence and were no longer the mediums of mainstream media. He instead pointed out that social media had grown to become the main stream media.
The former Churchill show comedian who is also a close friend of Chipukeezy criticized the TV station citing that The Chipukeezy show was one of the best shows at Ebru TV. He further revealed that Chipukeezy had called him on several occasions lamenting mistreatment.
" The Chipukeezy show was the best thing that happened to Ebru TV...I can not count the number of times Chipukeezy called me to cry, lament and complain about mistreatments and frustrations at Ebru🤦🤦," part of his lengthy Instagram post read.
The comedian also confessed that he had once witnessed the watchman instructing Chipukeezy to park his car outside the premises of the TV station as he had carried people unknown to him.
