Political analyst Ambrose Weda has predicted doom for Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i should he seek an elective position in the 2022 or future elections.
Already, the CS is being associated with either the Kisii or Nyamira gubernatorial seats by some Gusii leaders, some of whom want him to go straight for the presidency.
However, Weda says that as much as he is a performer, he is too stern to be elected into a political seat, and should only hope that he gets an administrative role after 2022.
Speaking on Wednesday, the commentator observed that Matiang'i should not expect to be elected into any seat because his sternness is terrifying Kenyans.
"Kenyans don't want a Matiang'i, he is a good administrator but too stern for a political seat. His chances are very limited," Weda said on KBC English Service, Wednesday morning.
He said that unlike the strict CS, Kenyans appear more in support of social persons and might reject him on grounds that he will make life hard for them once elected.
"People don't want a person who will dictate them on things like bar opening hours. They want people like Sonko who they can dance with around," he added.
However, though he has been banking in endorsements, at times in his presence, the CS is yet to make any political declaration.
