Here are some of the things they do that prove that they are great people;

1. Great love for soccer

Luos form the  majority of fans of the Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia Football Club and are known to travel for hundreds of kilometers just to watch the 'Green Army' play.

This is unlike most of the members of the other communities who would rather wait until their favorite team comes for a match near home.

They are usually willing to part away with thousands of shillings in transport, accommodation and gate fees just to attend a match.

2. Money is nothing

There is a recent urban Luo saying which says 'Pesa Otas' (money is just paper) and this directly appears to the Luos, some of whom can spend as much as Sh5, 000 for a single Gor Mahia jersey.

This means that if one buys 4 such shirts for himself, his wife and two sons, he could have comfortably bought a whole bale of tee-shirts in Gikomba or Eastleigh and started a second hand clothes business.

3. Political untouchables

Luos have a great love for politics, specifically if it touches on opposition leader Raila Odinga whom most of them consider the best leader in the nation.

Some, especially the male, can spend a whole day discussing politics and still manage to make ends meet through miraculous ways.

In Nakuru, for instance, they have a joint right outside Telkom Kenya offices where politics is the main topic, from morning to evening, with the team bringing together common citizens and former political leaders and hopefuls.
