Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho seems to have shelved his presidential ambitions.
It appears, Joho retreated as a result of the March 9th, 2018 handshake between ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta which brought political nemesis together for the best 'interest' of the nation.
During the 2017 campaigns, Governor Joho indicated his intentions to vie for the presidency come 2022 on an ODM ticket which attracts other leaders from the sphere including ODM deputy Party leader Wycliffe Oparanya the Kakamega Governor who happens to be the current Council of Governors chair.
Joho has been for ages a great confidant of ODM leader Raila Odinga and indisputable member of the ODM party's at the Coast region which has been Odinga's support base for decades.
The handshake made Joho to embrace his once great political nemesis President Kenyatta and deputy President Dr.William Ruto citing the country's unity as bigger than an individual's pursuance.
As the 2022 debate continues raising eyebrows, Joho has gone underground in what can be an indication of placing his ambitions aside in order to 'support' his party's choice for the top seat.
Governor Joho commonly known as 001 would have battled it out with Deputy president Dr.William Ruto, Dr.Alfred Mutua the Machakos Governor, Musalia Mudavadi ANC party leader, Peter Kenneth, Gideon Moi the KANU chairman in a hot contest to Statehouse.
