Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Wednesday met the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at his office in Mombasa.
Dr. Mohammed Abdulgani Mohammed Khayat paid Joho a courtesy visit where the two had talks on various matters that concern Saudi Arabia and Mombasa County.
Governor Joho revealed that the two discussed a number of things and partnership in trade, tourism and other investments.
"Held talks with Amb Dr Mohammed Abdulgani Mohammed Khayat, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia who paid me a courtesy call at my office earlier today. We discussed areas of partnership particularly trade, tourism and investment," tweeted Joho.
The county boss also added that many Kenyans travel to Saudi Arabia to seek for greener pastures thus a need for the two nations to cooperate and work together so that better lives of the citizens is achieved.
"Saudi Arabia is important to us with many of our people living and working there. We will continue working together for the betterment of the lives of Kenyans and Saudi citizens," he added.
There have been allegations that Kenyans working in Saudi Arabia and other Arabic countries are mistreated and assaulted.
Some have even been begging good Samaritans to help them come back home, with the most recent one being a Kenyan who was in Qatar but later rescued by well-wishers.
