Immediately after comparing himself to Uganda's Kyandondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, Babu Owino has been at the receiving end of residents who insist that he is nothing significant compared to Bobi.

Owino had taken to social media to put himself in the same league with African youthful revolutionaries like Wine and Julius Malema of South Africa, something residents said was improper for the first-time MP.

“I am in talks with Nelson Chamisa of Zimbabwe, Julius Malema of South African and with Bobi Wine. We want to have one voice in Africa!" he posted.

In a residents' group on social media, political followers were quick to put Babu 'in his place'.

“Sorry to disappoint but you are in talks with men who have made a mark with their hard stands against oppressors, looters & dictators. All you stand for is hooliganism, theatrics, sycophancy & selfish self-gain. ZERO FOCUS," a commenter said.

"Kwenda huko! How do you compare yourself to revolutionaries?" asked Jack Anyango.

Others on the commentary list called upon Malema to disown Owino immediately.

“Julius Malema come and read these comments and disassociate yourself with this thing. As a youth, he doesn’t speak for me. If you have to, you are in better hands with Sakaja or better Boniface Mwangi," said Jeff Gerald.
