The government has bid farewell to the outgoing US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec lauding him for his immense contribution to the peace initiative in the country as his tenure came to an end.
While hosting the outgoing ambassador in his office in Nairobi, the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi acknowledged the role Godec played in the expansion of democracy in Kenya.
"I take this opportunity to acknowledge Bob Godec's positive contribution towards expanding our democratic space during his tenure as US envoy to Kenya. I also thank him for the positive engagement we've had on various security matters and wish him well in his future endeavors." CS Matiangi said.
Godec's tenure came to an end after the US Senate confirmed Kyle McCarter as the new US Ambassador to Kenya.
Godec leaves Kenya after serving as US ambassador for six years.
On 3rd of January 2019 Godec congratulated the incoming US ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter and thanked the people of Kenya for the cooperation they showed him throughout his six-year spell.
