Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has strongly condemned the inhumane act by an unknown person who mistreated a baby.
The governor shared his concern and displeasure in his official Facebook page on Monday asking the public to disclose the person to him.
According to the post, the unknown suspect gave birth to the baby boy, tied his neck tightly with a rope and abandoned him in a place Sonko never revealed.
"Luckily the baby was rescued by a good Samaritan and rushed to Mukuru Kwa Reuben Maternity Hospital where the rope on the neck was removed and some first aid done on him. But since the condition of the baby is not very good, he has been transferred to Mama Lucy Hospital where doctors are trying to save his life," reads part of the post.
Further, Sonko noted that he was offering a Sh100,000 token to whoever will help bring the irresponsible parent to the book.
The horrific incident has been reported at Mukuru Kwa Reuben Police Post under OB No. 32/9/3/2019.
"I wish instead of doing this to an innocent angel the mother had come reached out to well-wishers for help in raising him. Let's pray for the baby to survive and lives to achieve the purpose for which God created him," the governor added.
