They claimed Ngilu used a church podium to spread her lies on Sunday.

Speaking separately in Kitui town on Monday, the MCAs said Ngilu’s claims that they (MCAs) are fighting her are false.

Led by Kyomo MCA, Alex Wambua, the county legislators argued that it is not true that they are demanding for expensive foreign trips from the Kitui county government.

“Governor Ngilu should be transparent and stop using the church as a ground to give false information,” Wambua said.

Wambua said Ngilu is evading answering audit questions and is out to taint their names.

“It is a pity that Ngilu can lie in church,” Nuu MCA Alex Musili said.

The MCAs said they will not approve the county’s supplementary budget until they get a breakdown on how previous budgets have been utilized.

On Sunday, Ngilu accused the MCAs of refusing to approve the budget after she blocked their demands to be taken to Mombasa for retreats and leisure.

Ngilu said she will not yield to the county legislators demands, noting that she is ready to have the county dissolved and fresh election conducted.

The Kitui county boss accused the MCAs of playing 2022 politics at the expense of supporting development.

Last month, Ngilu pleaded with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to intervene and compel the MCAs to pass the supplementary budget.
