A section of leaders from Gusii now want Migori Governor Okoth Obado to take responsibility following the brutal murder of Sharon Otieno.
Led by Janet Ong'era, they said Governor Obado should face the full force of the law.
"The DPP should ensure Governor Obado is arrested over the killing of Sharon and arraign him in court with his co-accused who are in custody," she said during an interview with Citizen television on Sunday.
According to her, Obado was behind the brutal killing and consequently, he should be arrested.
Nyamira County MP Jerusha Momanyi said Governor Obado is not above the law.
"Obado is the main culprit and therefore, he should be apprehended. The office of the DPP, DCI and police officers should act fast and arrest the governor," said Mrs. Momanyi.
Homa Bay County MP Gladys Wanga urged the DPP Noordin Haji not to prosecute the killers in custody before governor Obado is arrested.
"Governor Obado is the main suspect in the brutal killing. He should be arrested to be arraigned in court with the other suspects who are already in custody," she noted.
