Bonchari MP John Oyioka has issued fresh demands to NASA leader Raila Odinga before he can support the referendum.
Oyioka said he will only support Raila's if the former Prime Minister agrees to retire from active politics.
"I am ready to support the referendum to amend the constitution only if Raila agrees to retire from politics. He has hit retirement age and he should, therefore, retire voluntarily," he said.
The People's Democratic Party MP said the aging ODM party leader should allow the youthful leaders to take over.
"The constitution can't be amended to favor Raila to vie again in 2022. There are other people who should be given the opportunity to vie for the country's top seat because Raila has lost it 3 times," he said.
According to Oyioka, Kenyans can't continue fighting each during election just because Raila lost.
He said Raila's style of leadership is the major reason he has been losing elections.
The lawmaker was speaking at Botoro area on Saturday.
