Exactly three years after surviving crimes against humanity conviction, President Uhuru Kenyatta honoured ICC Vice President Justice Joyce Aluoch at State House.
Uhuru was among six Kenyans who were facing the international crimes at the Hageu based International Criminal Court.
At State House on Thursday, Uhuru feted Mrs. Aluoch with Order of Chief of Burning Spear award for her role in transforming judiciary.
"It is my honour to oversee this event which would have otherwise come earlier.
"I recognize women leaders and their contribution to the society. However, God's time is the best," he said.
While handing over the honour, the President was seen having a passionate discussion with the ICC Judge.
Mrs. Aluoch, a former Judge of High Court of Kenya, was elected ICC Vice President in 2015 by her fellow judges.
She is the only Kenyan serving in the international court. She was born in 1947 in Kisumu County.
