Three most wanted suspects have been arrested by Director of Criminal Investigation detectives.
The trio was nabbed on Sunday over alleged mysterious killings in Western Kenya.
The DCI through a statement on social media identified the suspects as Samuel Mulimi Mather, Wycliffe Achala Kinandi and Duncan Karana.
The statement revealed their arrest was due to forensic-based analysis in an operation by detectives from DCI headquarters.
"The intelligence-based operation started in Kawangware and has since extended to the Western region, leading to the arrest of 5 prime suspects so far who are pending to appear in court on Monday," DCI noted
Further, the DCI's statement revealed the suspects' houses were searched leading to the discovery of crude weapons among them machetes, knives and iron bars.
This came barely days after the arrest of Kelson Lienga at Kawangare who was among the most wanted criminals. He was linked to a robbery that resulted in a victim's leg being chopped off.
On the horrific deaths that shocked the country recently in Matungu, Interior CS Fred Matiang'i had deployed GSU officers to Matungu, Kakamega.
This lead to the arrest of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and former Sports CS Rashid Echesa who are still in custody.
