In the mid-morning drama, Fafi legislator Hon Abdikarim Osman Mohamed stormed the Hagardera police station where he is said to have confronted the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) demanding answers to the allegations.

Earlier reports indicated that the MP slapped a police officer and released several prisoners in one of the cells.

Efforts to seek clarifications from the MP on phone proved futile as calls went unanswered.

Similarly, the OCS could not be reached for comment as no one was not allowed into the station including members of the press over security concerns.

The situation was worsened by rowdy members of the public who also wanted to forcefully get in to protest over alleged harassment by police officers attached to the station.

By the time of going to press, calm had been restored.

Cases of politicians and members of public storming police stations are on the rise.

Just weeks ago, Pokot Governor John Lonyang'apuo caused drama in from of cameras when he angrily removed a police roadblock in one of major roads in his county over public outcry over police harassment.
