The Director of Public Prosecutions and senator Yussuf Haji's son, Nordin Haji, has eventually responded to photo that has since went viral.
The photo which shows DPP Haji with a KANU brand has sparked a lot of controversy where netizens across the counties have been sharing with funny captions.
In the photo, Haji is seen standing adjacent to his father Senator Haji together with the Late Professor George Saitoti.
The trio, all donned t-shirts with the KANU anthem in praise of former president “Moi Juu” printed on their chests.
Clarifying the photo, the DPP revealed that the old photo was taken way back in the year 1997 when retired President Moi was on one of his many visits to Ijara in the present day Garissa county to declare it a district.
“That was way back in 1997 when I was 24 years old and in University. We were organizing to welcome the then president Moi. It wasn't an election period neither was it a political rally” he wrote on his Social media page on Tuesday.
The yellowing photo has since went viral, triggering a range of thoughts and reactions from active online users who evidently bashed and joked on him in equal weights.
