The second-termed Mombasa governor said the DP Ruto is the mastermind of attacks against him over his purported drug-trafficking business.

Recently leaders allied to Ruto attacked Governor Joho linking him to the drug-trafficking business.

They included Nandi Governor, Stephen Sang, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa, and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.

"I cannot engage in a war of words with the likes of Oscar Sudi because am sure they have been sent by their master William Ruto," Governor Joho said on Tuesday during a press briefing at Mukuru kwa Njenga, Embakasi East Constituency.

He continued by daring the country's second in command to stop using his "boys" and face him (Joho) by himself.

The Mombasa governor had accompanied Irshad Sumra on Monday, an ODM candidate, for the Embakasi South constituency for clearance with the IEBC.

Joho further said that he will have to go to court to settle that matter against claims by deputy president's allied leaders.
