Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika has promised that she will ensure Joyce Wanjiru achieves her dream of studying engineering at the university comes true.
Wanjiru, who scored an A- in the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), is a sister to Sam Gitau who perished in the Lake Nakuru chopper crash.
Sam Gitau, popularly known as Sam G, was a blogger affiliated to Kihika who was then campaigning for the senatorial seat.
A chopper they were using for campaigns crashed into the lake while aboard five in October 2017.
All those aboard perished.
Kihika said it was a tough year for the young Wanjiru after she lost a brother she was so close to.
"Despite starting her final year of Secondary School on a low note after losing her only brother Sam G whom she was very close with to the Lake Nakuru helicopter crash Joyce overcame all this turmoil and heartbreak to score an A- in her KCSE," Kihika said.
Kihika said she will ensure her dream comes true.
"She told me that she wants to study Engineering at the university. I will do all I can to help her achieve this dream,"Kihika said.
