The meeting, coming just two days before Musalia Mudavadi's Saturday's trip at Kwale, also sought on how to neutralize Ruto's possible opponents in 2022.

Kilifi South MP Owen Baya, confirmed the meeting at a Mombasa Hotel but denied to furnish the media with further details.

"Yes we are having a meeting and it will be held in Mombasa. I will not delve into further details," he said.

The meeting was chaired by Coast parliamentary group chair Suleiman Dori, who has bene at loggerheads with Raila Odinga's party.

Recently, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, openly accused ODM of witch hunt, insisting that she was at liberty to back Ruto.

"I have political rights which cannot be taken away from me. This is part of Building Bridges initiative by our party leader," she said.

The DP is trying to make inroads in the Coastal region after a backlash in Central region where he had banked for support.
