Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has asked Governor Ferdinand Waititu to urgently fix the deteriorating services in the county's public hospitals.
Wamatangi said it is a shame that Kiambu people are suffering as they cannot get quality service from public hospitals and facilities.
Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, the Jubilee senator said that residents are being denied their rights to quality health care as a result of poor services in Kiambu hospitals.
"Governor Waititu must quickly address the health issues and ensure residents have access to proper and quality healthcare as the constitution guarantees them," he said.
Wamatangi said that it is sad to see patients sharing beds and complaining of lack medicine at the public hospitals, adding that devolution was meant to relieve the people and not make them suffer.
"I hope he (Waititu) will do something urgently to restore order and save Kiambu from shame," he added.
Governor Waititu has been on the spot over poor health services at the Kiambu Level Five Hospital and other public facilities in the county.
There are reports of patients sharing beds and being forced to buy medicine from private pharmacies.
Speaking on Wednesday when he toured the Kiambu Level Five Hospital, Waititu blamed the sorry situation on delays by the National Treasury to release funds to counties.
The Governor had earlier blamed the congestion in hospitals on the influx of patients from Nairobi and other counties.
