Controversial lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has praised Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji in his fight to root out corrupt individuals.
In a tweet on Thursday, the lawyer said that the office of the DPP has proven that it is committed in the war against loss of public resources.
Ahmednassir said in references to the sentencing of Former Kenya Re MD Johnson Jackson Githaka after he was linked to the misuse of public resources. Haji office has made the revelation of the sentencing on its official page.
Githaka has been imprisoned for one year after being linked to the fraudulent acquisition of Sh.7.26 million.
“Former Kenya Re MD Johnson Jackson Githaka sentenced to Sh750,000 in default 1-year imprisonment & a mandatory fine of sh 14.5 million in default 1 year imprisonment for fraudulent acquisition of public property worth sh 7.26 million #AntiCorruption_ODPP,” tweeted the DPP.
The lawyer later took to social media and praised Haji for the effort to recover stolen millions since he took over the office.
“DPP Noordin and his officers have scored significant successes in the past six months...with more resources and support the office will significantly change this country,” Ahmednassir said.
The remarks come at a time when President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared war on corruption in various ministries.
