Fifteen police officers attached to Lafey Police Post in Mandera County on Saturday survived a grisly road accident when a vehicle they were moving in lost control in Dambalafachana along the Marsabit-Moyale highway.
The vehicle veered off the road before rolling severally after one of its tyres burst.
The police vehicle was heading to Nairobi when it was involved in the accident barely 20 kilometers away from their station.
Four officers sustained head injuries while the remaining others had minor bruises spread over their bodies.
The injured security men were later taken to Sololo Mission Hospital where they were placed under close supervision even as their motor vehicle was towed to their police station.
There were, however, no deaths reported.
