Probox drivers in Kisii have now slapped NTSA with new demands saying policemen have been harassing them continuously in Keroka.
This comes shortly after NTSA banned Probox vehicles from operating as PSV or taxi and asked them to be patient as they will be told on how to comply with the laws set.
However, the Probox drivers especially operating from Keroka - Masimba - Nyangusu and Keroka - Nyamasibi are now fed up with the delay in laying down working rules for the Probx operators.
Most of the youths have threatened to resort to stealing if NTSA doesn't give them a working way in which they can operate swiftly with the NTSA laws that will have been set.
According to reports by a local FM station on Tuesday, the Probox drivers said that some had bought the vehicles through borrowing loans and now they are unable to repay back. They also have families depending on them by paying rent and school fees for their children.
"There are many Probox vehicles in Kisii which were being operated by youths initially before the ban. So, do you want these youths to start stealing to cater for their need?" asked one of the Probox drivers.
"We have gone up to the NTSA headquarters in Kisii and asked them to tell us on how to comply. However, they are not giving us a clear solution. They are actually telling us that we are not allowed to operate PSV or taxi yet we do not carry heavy loads. We bought the vehicles out of loans and we need to repay them. We request the Ministry of Transport to come to our aid."
