Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris has condoled with the family of Ivy Wangeci, the Moi University Medical student who was brutally murdered by her alleged lover.
On Wednesday Passaris took to her Twitter handle to mourn the sixth year Medicine student.
The Nairobi Woman Representative asked the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to ensure proper investigations is done and unravel the motives behind the murder.
“My deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Ivy Wangeci. There is absolutely nothing Ivy did or didn’t do to deserve the inhumane violence meted her. I pray justice. Over to you @DCI Kenya," she said.
Wangeci, a sixth year medicine student was hacked to death by a 28 year-old man suspected to be her lover.
According to police and eye witnesses, the student was waylaid by her attacker and axed to death.
The student’s death has sparked debate on social media platforms with a lot of theories being linked to what could have made the man to brutally kill her.
Police investigation into the murder is already underway.
The suspect who suffered injuries as a result of mob justice meted on him is being treated at the Moi Referral Hospital in Eldoret under the watch of the police.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court to answer to murder charges once he is discharged and probe completed.
