Hours after ODM chairman Richard Kaka defended Raila Odinga's role in Migori senatorial by-election, more leaders have joined the bandwagon.
In the midst of protests, nominated MCA Irene Nyakerario said: "There is no party without internal problems. Allow our leadership to fix it instead of condemning party leader."
Former Manga MCA Peter Maroro said there is room for improvement, adding that the decision to handpick Ochillo Ayacko was collective.
"There was a mistake but it's something that can be solved. It was collective and it's unhelpful to condemn Raila. It must be fixed though."
Mr. Odinga was widely condemned over the party's narrow win in Migori despite the region being a stronghold.
Ayacko was handpicked by the party's Central Management Committee against the wishes of the majority supporters.
He scooped 85, 000 of the votes while his closest challenger Eddy Oketch scored 61,000 votes a margin which supporters accused Odinga of orchastrating since party nominations were not conducted.
