South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has revealed the reason he settled in the little known Kenya National Congress (KNC) party, ahead of the 2017 polls.
According to the lawmaker, he opted to seek refuge in the small party because he realized that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party doesn't value democracy.
"I quit ODM for little known KNC because I knew in ODM I will not get the ticket to run for the MP seat. Since politics is local I campaigned on the KNC party ticket until constituents considered me," he said on Saturday at Omogwa village.
According to the legislator, some people think that once someone gets hold of some ticket or knows how to insult some leaders who don't subscribe to their line of thinking, he/she will automatically win the elections.
"I could have lost the MP seat if I was in ODM party. The party candidates lost in Ugenya and Embakasi South mini polls because they were given direct tickets despite the fact that they were unpopular," said Osoro.
The vocal lawmaker perceived to be a close ally to DP Ruto challenged ODM party to change its leadership for the sake of winning in future.
