Two weeks ago, a woman by the name Jane Kwamboka became the subject of debate after delivering by the roadside at Muthurwa market in Nairobi.
Lady luck of her side though, she was rescued by Governor Mike Sonko's rescue team and rushed to the hospital to get proper treatment.
The woman was on Thursday discharged from Pumwani Maternity Hospital where she was taken for further medical attention after she had delivered a bouncing baby girl.
Nairobi Governor shared the news via his official Twitter account on Thursday with pictures showing a healthy mum. Sonko added that his team has done shopping for Jane to help her as she goes to start a new life with her baby.
"This Morning Jane Kwamboka who was assisted by Sonko rescue team to give birth to a bouncing baby girl by the roadside at Muthurwa area was discharged from Pumwani Maternity Hospital. My team also took her for shopping as she heads back home," read a tweet by Governor Sonko.
This is not the first time Governor Sonko has come to the rescue of Kenyans, especially Nairobians who have had issues related to medical bills.
Three months ago, the governor cleared a medical bill amounting to Sh56 000 of a man called Boniface Murage.
Murage had tried to sneak his daughter out of Kenyatta National Hospital because he was not able to pay the bills.
