The fate of Nakuru County CEC for Finance Joseph Kiuna is now in the hands of the Nakuru County MCAs after a youths caucus petitioned his conduct.
The petition is in relation to sports funds Sh30,000 per ward that were given to Sports officer for teams planning to participate in inter-county games.
However it has emerged that the funds were later recalled by the Finance department under unclear circumstances.
The caucus claimed the funds were recalled 'illegally'.
Through the petition, the youths want the CEC to be investigated over what they term as a misconduct.
“We want the CEC investigated over what is seen as misconduct in his docket so that he does not mess up the Finance department” said Daniel Gitau, the Nakuru County Youth Caucus chairman said.
He added: “As youths we shall not sit down and watch as a few individuals mess up the development agenda in our county.”
Already the county assembly has received the letter.
". . . The aforementioned petition was laid before the Assembly and thereafter referred to the Committee on Budget and Appropriation and Finance to investigate and table the findings before the House…” reads part of the response letter.
It further states: “Since the House will break for long recess in accordance with its 2018 legislative calendar, you will be required to appear before the committee at a time and venue to be communicated when the House resumes."
