Kisii County Woman Representative Janet Ong'era has broken her silence over the alleged plan to impeach Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.
The county MP while speaking on Friday at Isecha village in Kitutu Chache North during the burial of Dr David Gilbert Ombati dismissed the planned ouster terming it a waste of time.
"I have been reading on newspapers that some politicians want to impeach Matiang'i. No one will succeed in harassing Matiang'i due to the good work he is doing," said the MP.
She appealed to Matiang'i not to listen to confused politicians who are only interested in dragging his name into politics.
Ong'era maintained that Matiang'i is among the hard-working Kenyans who were absorbed into government.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta had to promote Matiang'i after he tested him. His hard work earned him the promotion, therefore, those planning to impeach Matiang'i are just seeking fame in the country's political arena," she stated.
The vocal lawmaker insisted that the fake gold scam should not be politicised adding that suspects must be arrested and be prosecuted.
