Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho has joined other leaders in mourning the mother of his Kisumu counterpart Prof Anyang Nyong'o.
Governor Nyong'o's mother, Mama Dorcas Owino, passed away at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, on Tuesday at around 1.55 pm (according to Nyong'o's communication department) where she had spent some days admitted there.
Governor Hassan Joho has sent a message of condolence to the family through his Facebook account where he has consoled the family for losing not only a mother but also a role model to many women.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Mama Dorcas Owino Nyong’o mother to H.E Prof.Anyang’ Nyong’o. The people of Mombasa and I wish to join Prof.Nyong’o’s family in mourning Mama Dorcas.
We have lost a mother and role model to many women who knew her. May the Almighty God give the family strength and patience during this difficult time," read Joho's post.
Other leaders including former Prime Minister and ODM party leader Raila Odinga have joined the family in mourning Mama Dorcas.
