Cherangany Member of Parliament Joshua Kuttuny has urged Deputy President William Ruto to take a deep and careful thought about his political career.
This follows calls to impeach him over alleged gross misconduct which are being led by seasoned politician and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
Kuttuny said the impeachment proposal should make DP Ruto realize that he needs to take action and save his political career which is staring at a major threat.
"Why would people talk about impeaching him? He should soul-search on this because impeachment happens when there is misconduct, and he has been mentioned in too many scandals," said the vocal MP, speaking to the Daily Nation, Tuesday.
The Jubilee MP further urged Ruto to back his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta in the ongoing war against corruption and stop his criticism of the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
He noted that there was a perception that the DP was opposed graft war for faulting the two agencies in various matters such as the ongoing probe on alleged loss of Sh21 billion meant for construction of Arror and Kimwarer dams in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
"He openly castigates the institutions investigating graft as if he is not part of the government. All these issues paint an image of a public officer not committed to side with the government’s initiatives," said the former advisor at the Office of the President.
Interestingly, Kuttuny, who lately has become a fierce critic of the DP, dismissed the impeachment suggestion saying it was "ill-timed".
