On Thursday, Kuria pointed out that humility should be an important factor in politicking.

According to Kuria, politicians should not use their humble background as a tool to enter into higher political seats. Kuria who has declared his interest in the presidential seat comes 2022 revealed he will not use such despite being the son of a peasant.

"As a son of a peasant, I will not use my humble background as a tool to ascend to power, just the same way I do not expect those from rich backgrounds to use their privileged backgrounds as a tool to ascend or keep power." Moses Kuria noted

Further, Kuria challenged his colleague's warning of excessive pride. He mentioned the chicken sellers which is the publicly DP Ruto's earlier job known by many.

"Hubris is unacceptable from those of us from poor backgrounds as it is from the rich. Humility needs to be our guiding factor for both chicken sellers and sons of Presidents." Mose Kuria added

This comes barely hours after National Prayer Breakfast where DP Ruto narrated that he wore his first pair of shoes in 1981 which cost Sh60.
