According to CA, the malware dubbed Emotet is targeting network systems.

In a statement, CA stated that the National Computer Incident Response Team Coordination Centre has already detected 11 cases.

"It can evade typical signature-based detection and has several methods for maintaining persistence, including auto-start registry keys and services," said  CA Director General Tom Olwero.

He pointed out that the virus spreads through links or email attachments.

The alert comes like a bank account alert or invoices.

If not contained, the malware can lead to loss of crucial data causing harm to affected institutions.

Institutions are also urged to install protective software to combat malware and to stick to the best practices in cybersecurity.
