The political battle lines between the pro-Deputy President William Ruto team and those against him in Central Kenya seem to be taking shape day by day.
Apparently, this battle is being fought on the Kikuyu secular music circles where Mt Kenya politicians belonging to either side have been accused of sponsoring popular artists to drive their slanted agendas to the Kikuyu masses through music.
For instance, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has been widely accused of sponsoring Kimani Wa Turacco's anti-Ruto song, 'Hatuna Deni, Kitaeleweka'.
And as if to confirm these allegations, Wambugu has since adopted the 'Kitaeleweka' title which has become his alias name.
However, the pro-Ruto team in Central Kenya otherwise known as 'Team Tangatanga', has decided to hit back at the anti-Ruto camp using the same method, music.
Through the popular upcoming secular music artist Gathee Wa Njeri, four 'Team Tangatanga' members are mentioned in the song.
The artist requests Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa, Muranga Woman Rep Sabina Chege and Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru to remind Central Kenya voters not to forget that 'goodness is paid back by goodness'.
The artist goes ahead to praise Ruto for supporting Uhuru in fostering peace and unity between Central Kenya and Rift Valley communities while assuring Ruto that the whole of Mt Kenya region will rally behind him as a show of gratitude 'for helping us cross the heavily crocodile-infested river'.
At the same time, Gathee praises the Uhuru-Raila handshake saying that this brought to an end the 'vitendawili' and 'tibim' narratives as now Raila is headed for retirement.
Gathee begs UhuRuto not to allow 'this country to be destroyed by some people who are as greedy as hyenas'.
The artist concludes by requesting Central voters to forget about the 2007 post-election violence, adding that 'Ruto and Uhuru are ours for good'.
