Details of high octane trickery orchastrated by Michael Oyamo, in a case involving a university student and a Journalist can now be revealed.
Mr. Oyamo, an aide to Governor Okoth Obado, has since been arrested by detectives in connection with the abduction of Nation Journalist Barack Oduor and Sharon Otieno, who has since died.
Explicit details by Oduor indicates that Oyamo, had organised a meeting with him and Ms. Otieno to issue a statement on behalf of the politician linked to the latter's pregnancy.
A meeting was first convened at Rodi Kopany but Mr. Oyamo shifted it to Graca Hotel in Rongo, where the two linked with him later.
But at the hotel, Oyamo refused to share his statement arguing that the environment was not favourable for him.
“When we got out of the hotel, he told us to board his vehicle so we could move to a different hotel within Rongo town. He was with the driver and a co-driver,” said Oduor.
They then drive towards Homa Bay contrary to what Oyamo had initially told then and made a stopover at Ndege, a shopping center few kilometres from Rongo.
At the point, two more occupants took back seats sandwiching Oduor and Ms Otieno in the process.
“We sat in the middle. One man was in the far left and the other far right seat. They ordered us to surrender our phones and all property we had. That is when I knew we had been abducted,” said Oduor.
Mr. Oyamo alighted from the vehicle leaving the occupants to proceed towards Homa Bay.
Having come to terms that he'd been abducted, Oduor would later struggle and jump out of the speeding vehicle leaving the poor girl inside.
As he recuperates in Kisumu, his other news client, Sharon, was found dead at Kodera forest and subsequently taken to Oyugis Level Four Hospital.
The government through Erick Kiraithe has since termed Oduor's abduction as 'attempted murder' even as Kenyans called for justice for the slain girl.
Sources intimate that Ms. Otieno, who was seven months pregnant, had a close relationship with Obado.
